The Zurich Center for Experimental and Clinical Imaging Technologies (EXCITE) is a joint competence center of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich under the umbrella of Hochschulmedizin Zürich (HMZ).

Since the beginning of 2014, EXCITE Zurich provides a broad platform for imaging solutions across length scales, from single atoms to anatomical features. The focus of the center is on the development of biomedical imaging solutions, which includes explicitly their translation into clinical research and practice.

EXCITE Zurich succeeds the Center for Imaging Science and Technology (CIMST), which has been established in 2006 to foster collaboration and exchange between researchers from a wide range of backgrounds, to educate and train scientists both from the academic and industrial sector, and to provide a contact between scientists in the Greater Zurich Area who are active in imaging research and industrial and political leaders
